My name is Svetlana Bugrimova (for your convenience, I changed it to Lana B'uri). I started out as a beauty advisor and a make up artist, but my path led me to be a self-publishing author of a few beautiful books. I own a consulting and publishing company, creating different activities and presentations based on my writing and life experiences. I have organized beauty consultations and make up applications, spiritual readings and classes, as well as gallery exhibitions of art works illustrating my stories. Through all my activities, I seek to benefit women and children.
Here is my story, which explains my life choices and activities. It started from the desire to explore the world and I conquered many fears on the way.
It was a journey of survival and looking for a place in a new life. Having graduated from the College of Foreign Languages with the Bachelor's and Master's degree in foreign languages back in Russia, I never had problem with communication in English; I even continued my education in the USA in computer literacy, English and paralegal studies. However, I had to work hard to change my mentality ("When in Rome, do as Romans do," they say) while keeping my own individuality unaffected.
I tried different "suits" on: a legal assistant in law offices for a few years, then a Mary Kay beauty advisor, a freelance makeup artist and skincare specialist working with different cosmetic companies in New York stores. All these experiences and hard work led me gradually into writing my first book "Little Magic Mirror", which reveals "secrets" of the world of Beauty for ordinary, busy women like me. I also created Everyday Women's Club "Charisma" through which I bring a powerful message to women about their inner and outer beauty, and their major and important role in the upbringing of the young generation. Presently, I dedicate my time to developing project "Just One Little Star", which aims to make a difference in the lives of the younger generation on the planet.
Free copies of the book "Just One Little Star", with stories illustrated by children of different walks of life, nationalities and spiritual beliefs, and printed on 100% recycled paper, will be given away in hospitals, shelters, after-school programs, summer camps, art schools and orphanages. We hope to engage more and more children to read and illustrate the stories of the book.
